AGH Games Hall 2026

Hi! As you might remember, I promised that the next couple of posts would be dedicated to games and events from the past year. Well? I lied. I mean this one is an exception and we’ll be back to our retrospective posts soon.

Wait… where were we?

If you’ve joined our Discord server, you’ve probably seen our posts from AGH Games Hall (and if you haven’t checked out the Discord yet, come join us!). It was a gaming industry event in Kraków. Two days of talks and workshops provided many opportunities to meet awesome people interested in game development. For us, the most important part was the open space, where many developers got to show off their games to visitors.

Getting ready

The decision to take part in AGH Games Hall came just two weeks before the event. This meant we had almost no time to get everything sorted out. Our goal was to show Bullet Waste: The Wastewalker to the public for the very first time. “What is this Wastewalker thing?” you might be asking. Great question! It’s the subtitle of our new project that rebuilds the original Bullet Waste from the ground up, in an effort to make it actually fun for the players. We will have a separate post dedicated just to this soon, so stay tuned. There was only a little problem: we were massively unprepared. The level we wanted to show was barely working and we didn’t even have a name for the project yet (we settled on The Wastewalker later). Thanks to the hard work of the team, we managed to get the demo ready in time, though in a very unpolished state. We were fixing issues live during the event, leading to 12 builds over two days! After all of these changes the demo was in an acceptable shape. It doesn’t sound like that, but it was a huge win for us.

Getting not ready

Unfortunately, not everything went according to the plan. While we had ordered stickers and leaflets for giveaways, print delays hit us hard. We were aiming for a live Steam page, but it also slipped through our fingers. The page is public now, feel free to check it out. At least we managed to get a nice rollup banner on schedule. It looks fantastic, but the QR codes are too dark to be scanned properly in poor lighting conditions.

Final thoughts & Big thanks

All the feedback we gathered is going to help us massively. We confirmed that the changes made during the Wastewalker project are moving the game in the right direction. We are making Bullet Waste more fun to play! The players also pointed out some big and small issues we need to resolve to improve the overall experience. We’ll talk more about this in a later post focusing on the game itself.

Huge thanks to the organizers of AGH Games Hall! The event was a great opportunity to get feedback for our project. Plus, we had a lot of fun playing other games and hanging out with their creators, especially at the afterparty. We can’t wait for the next edition!

Stay tuned for the next posts!
